The Ultimate Gin Library- Garden Swift
Distillery: Capreolus, The Mount, Park View, Stratton, Cirencester
Garden Swift was formerly known as Garden Tiger. The gin was made ‘Spirit of the Year” for 2017 by Whiskey Exchange. The Distillery had only been in operation for 5 months when they won the prestigious award. It is incredible as the Cotswolds distillery run by Barney Wilczak, a single minded individual and wildlife photographer came on top beating the rest of other stunning products.
The bottle is unique in its attention to detail with a glass which is highly UV resistant, the corks are very palpable, and the labels comes letterpress-printed. They are small works of art which depicts creativity at its best.
Wilczak has taken a lot of trouble to produce this extraordinary complex gin and when tasted one is bound to think differently about everything they knew about gin and spirits.
The gin is produced with thirty four botanicals which is a combination of home-grown, wild and store bought ingredients. It is known to be one of the most complex gin to be produced in the UK. This gin is produced as a result of extensive testing and highly selective selection.
Try serving as a G&T or the recommended Chamois cocktail and take great care to sip it slowly, neat and I would suggest un-chilled. Good to visualize the efforts and pains that have gone into making of this special gin whilst sipping the gin in a Georgian gin glass slowly and tenderly.
Great gin requires the perfect serve! You need to precisely measure out your gin and serve it in a glass which allows the botanicals and aromas to release. Go here to buy Copa Gin Glasses with bar accessories! They're rated 5* by hundreds of your fellow gin lovers!
